Auction Preview Free Location: Los Angeles Contemporary Exhibitions Wednesday 8 October Sunday 12 October from 12 6 pm, Friday 10 October from 12 - 9 pm WHAT: A 25th anniversary celebration and fundraiser for Los Angeles Contemporary Exhibitions, a non-profit interdisciplinary contemporary visual arts center. Organized with a sharp eye on the future, and informed by this organizations impressive and notorious, outrageous and prescient past, the 25th Anniversary Benefit Art Auction and Gala will be a festive event that will embody all the creativity and excitement our audience has come to expect from Los Angeles Contemporary Exhibitions. WHO: Contemporary artworks by some of our organizations most legendary artist alumni as well as some of the most important visual artists working today will be auctioned live at the event. Contributing artists include Eleanor Antin, Nayland Blake, Kevin Hanley, Tom LaDuke, Ed Moses, Karin Apollonia Müller, Allan Sekula, Alexis Smith, Susan Silton, Frances Stark, Nancy Rubins, Marnie Weber, Bruce Yonemoto and many more. Additionally, a silent auction will showcase and celebrate exciting design and highlight furniture, architecture, and décor by well-known designers and architects. Among the many fabulous Silent Auction contributors are TK Architecture, LA Eyeworks, Claire Joseph, Circa Editions (Frank Gehry Print), Inner Gardens, Claudia Benvenuto The Fainting Couch, Donghia Furniture and Textiles, Leslie Sachs Interior Design, Claudia Laub Studio, Paulin Paris, Sandy Koepke Interior Design, Paul Robbins Garden Design, Jeffrey Alan Marks, Inc., Tony Meredith, and Jim Schatz. WHY: Since the organization's inception twenty-five years ago, the primary fundraising activity of Los Angeles Contemporary Exhibitions has been the Annual Benefit Art Auction. Every year this event has been a highlight on the calendars of area collectors of contemporary art and a lively social event in which art patrons, collectors, gallery owners, and affluent young professionals mingle with many of the artists whose works are available. Now, presented with the amazing once-in-a-lifetime 25th anniversary opportunity, a grand Gala celebration will set the stage for this years Annual Auction. This event will raise important funds that will help build the foundation on which to achieve another twenty-five years of challenging and unique programming. ABOUT LOS ANGELES CONTEMPORARY EXHIBITIONS: Los Angeles Contemporary Exhibitions is a non-profit interdisciplinary contemporary visual arts center that maintains an unwavering commitment to innovation in the visual arts by presenting work that is new, untested, controversial and experimental. The organization originated in 1978 from a need for a Los Angeles venue that supports, exhibits, and advocates innovations in art-making. Since its inception, the organization has presented the work of over 5000 artists in over 3000 exhibitions, performances, screenings, and works of public art.
