Lot 25 Using only available light and long exposures, San Francisco-based Todd Hido captures haunting and ominous images like the urban landscape seen here, an artist proof for a sold-out edition of ten, entitled “House Hunting.” About this work, writer Andy Grundberg says, “Hido, lurking with his camera across the street, comes off as a benign but creepy surveillance aficionado…”. After earning his BFA from Tufts, Hido attended Rhode Island School of Design for a year before moving on to the California College of Arts and Crafts, where he earned his MFA in 1996. His work is included in more than two dozen public collections, and he is represented by the Stephen Wirtz Gallery in San Francisco. |
