Lot 27 Using large, shaped canvases and floor-to-ceiling angled, wall-like constructions, the work of Yunhee Min has been characterized as achieving “architectural disorientation.”(Art in America). About her work, Min says, “My investigation is concerned with the relationship of the individual to a given space, specifically the way in which the relationship is mediated by surface/color and architectural/spatial configurations.” This complex collage by Min incorporates both structural photographs and the acrylic bands of color much like those found on her shaped canvas paintings. Born in Seoul, Korea, Min earned her BFA from Art Center College of Design in Pasadena and then studied at Kunstakademie in Dusseldorf, Germany. |
