32 Todd Gray Berlin Girl 2003 C-print value $900-$1,100 11 1/2 x 25 1/2" A.P. courtesy of the Artist |
About his work and his artistic practice, Todd Gray says, “Know your self. Understand the culture. Take risks. The appearance of things is as important to me as the meaning. Retinal pleasure, the joy of seeing, is what originally stimulated my interest in visual art – and still does – along with intellectual substance and meaning. A balance between the thought/concept of the piece and the psycho-visual experience of the object/installation/piece is critical to the production of significant work… .” Recently, Gray has had solo exhibitions at Luckman Gallery at Cal State/LA, Pasadena City College, and the Kellogg Gallery at Cal Poly Pomona. His work has been included in numerous group shows across the nation and can be found in collections throughout the world. Gray earned both his BFA and MFA from California Institute of the Arts, in 1979 and 1989 respectively. |
