Bill Barminski first came into the spotlight in the early eighties with recognition of the underground comics he produced while living in his native Texas. With his move to Los Angeles in 1985, Barminski’s work shifted to painting. A self-taught artist, Barminski has gone on to work with a variety of mediums from digital music composition to video installations and music videos. "The advertising-derived images that Barminski incorporates into his paintings are meant to evoke post-war America. Like filmmaker David Lynch and others, Barminski is interested in the ominously surreal side of the good life." (Tobey Crockett, Art in America)
