About his practice, Joe Sola says he is “working in the space where cinema, fantasy, and reality collide.” Since receiving his MFA from Otis College of Art and Design, Los Angeles in 1999, he has been in numerous group exhibitions around North America and abroad including the “California Biennial” at the Orange County Museum of Art, Newport Beach, California and “Gimme Shelter,” Museo Rifino Tamayo, Mexico City. In 2005 he will have a solo exhibition at Lemon Sky Projects and Editions in Miami. Sola has received a number of fellowships and residencies over the years, including one from the Wexner Center for the Arts in Columbus, Ohio.
