Both the art education and entrepreneurial development of Rocky Schenck began very early – at the age of 12 he began studying oil painting, and at 13 he was selling his works. A self-taught photographer, Schenck says he honed his skills while taking production stills on the sets of movies. Regarding his take on photography, Schenck says, “my approach is rather simple: I record on film what I see and what I feel as I travel through life…I consider my images to be illustrations of my conscious (and perhaps subconscious) dreams, emotions and longings...” Born in Austin, Texas, Schenck now lives and works in Los Angeles, where he most recently had a solo show at Paul Kopeikin Gallery.
