Sissi Westerberg born 1975 in Stockholm.
For seven years I studied metal-craft and jewellery-art. During my master studies at Konstfack (University College of Arts Craft and Design) in Stockholm my interest for body-adornment shifted in to a more focused interest in the body, experimenting with video, installation and sculpture. Last years I've been working on projects that aim to impose a feeling of intimacy and belongingness by using body-like shapes in connection with conservative values. I also have a great interest in the process of design and mass-production as a phenomena. Some resent projects have been aiming to develop strategies on how to collaborate and how to involve common people in the design process, which among other things resulted in a Do It Yourself-kit for a design store in Stockholm and the Growing Carpet Workshop at Future Design Days. At the moment I am based in Stockholm working in the field of art and design and also doing collaborative work together with the group S U B.
