New idea Hjärta Smärta

We want to do a shoe diary during our stay in LA. We´re using shoes and will be crafting or redesigning them, 14 pairs of ladies shoes, one pair each day. A shoe diary. We still want to work with the puzzles, but more on a collecting material level.

PUZZLE – starting point for LA from Hjärta Smärta (December 5th, 2005)

We thought of telling you briefly about our idea for a project in Civic Matters. Our initial idea and starting point is “PUZZLE”. We have thought about tourist puzzles that one buys as souvenirs from travels and visits (Waffenburge Castle 2000 pieces, Disneyland 1000 pieces, Göta Kanal 3000 pieces etc) which one later on installs in the hobby room. Many of these puzzles end up in piles in thrift shops where you find them piled up. Those puzzles are like huge postcards from all around the world, souvenirs that we put together at home when remembering our journey.

This is the background and our goal is now to create – build something from this idea. Perhaps a crazy puzzle room where everything is built of puzzle, walls, furniture, paintings, carpets…

Then we don’t really know how to solve the practical issues. We have bought puzzles with images of Sweden and America. One difficulty is of course to put together 15 puzzles consisting of 1000 pieces each… as being only two people and having a month period of time. Impossible… Another option we are thinking of is to create a theme – an image from LA and manufacture a huge puzzle that would cover an entire wall. Therefore we wish to know if there are any puzzle manufactures in The U.S. (Perhaps this is something you could look up for us, Veronica)

So this is our starting point. Puzzles!
