LACE accepts proposals from creative practitioners in the fields of visual and performance art, film/video, architecture, design, music and emerging/multi-disciplinary practices. All proposals for Exhibitions and/or Events submitted to LACE must:
Clearly define the concept which shapes the body of work from a particular perspective,
Describe how the project will activate the space, and
Articulate how the project will address and engage with LACE's audience(s).
Proposal Guidelines
Submit a one-page (800 word maximum) description of your proposed project, providing a concise statement of your concept, the artists involved, current status of the work (existing or to be created on-site), the space(s) you would like to use and why the project is appropriate for LACE.
Please do not send images or supplemental materials with your initial submission. Once we review the initial proposal and are interested in more details, we will invite you to submit further information, including images.
Be sure to include your email, address and phone number.
You will receive an email confirmation of your proposal within 3 days of submission receipt. If you do not receive an email confirmation, please contact us.
We are not accepting open submissions for solo shows or projects that have been previously exhibited elsewhere.
Exhibition proposals are reviewed twice a year.Deadlines: 15 January and 15 July. Exhibition slots vary from two to nine weeks. Plan on your project being paired with other projects and events. Proposals recieved throughout the year will be kept for the next deadline.
Event proposals are reviewed on a monthly basis.Deadlines: the 15th of each month. Proposals can be for a one-time event or a series of performances, dialogues, screenings or music.
Available spaces can be used individually or in combinations. They are:
